Welcome To The Dance

"Jetzt erst recht!" - (Now more than ever!)

After the Eurovision Song Contest disaster, the four angels had to digest their 14-point defeat.

The label that led them to the contest in the first place, left Jessica, Sandy, Nadja and Lucy alone with their music careers.
At this point, the angels were on their own. However, Khalid Schröder stepped in. At that time he had been a bodyguard for the four. Before he worked with the No Angels, he had been the drummer for his own band, had previously worked with instruments in music studios and had also become a manager himself. Therefore he worked with superstars like, Micheal Jackson and  Bon Jovi. His brother-in-law was a dentist and had given one of the Kool And The Gang members a denture, which is why Kalid had a good relationship with the band. He got to know the band leader Robert ‘Kool’ Bell and opened with him a management office.

Kalid came up with the idea of taking the No Angels to America after the ESC defeat. The four of them flew one after the other. Nadja flew earlier with her daughter, the others arrived in LA. afterwards. There they were able to process the ESC situation, find themselves anew and become musically creative.

There Lucy, Nadja, Jessy and Sandy met the American songwriters, producers and the Kool and the Gang themselves.

The four were allowed to perform together with Kool in front of the audience and sang with them at one of their gigs.

Kool management and therefore Kalid, didn't just want to give the No Angels the chance to create an album and sing a little. They wanted to bring the four big in America and to promot the angels also in germany.

Sandy, Jess, Nadja and Lucy had the ambition to grow musically, so they wanted to challenge themselves in other genres. The label believed in them and gave them the freedom. When they set to work, the Bild newspaper was there. They are the german TMZ. However, during that time the Bild newspaper worked with the angels and shot a video diary about the journey of the No Angels in L.A. Sandy's past boyfriend was there to support where he could.

The producers listened to previous No Angels CDs to get to know the productional work of the Angels voices and to hear the core pieces. The Angels were split into two groups for the songwriting. So Sandy and Jessy were together and Lucy with Nadja. This idea came from the label in order to work out the creativity of the groups and to have the right voice together. However, Lucy had co-written two songs without Nadja, Sandy and Jessy. The Production of the album was all about the No Angels, the well-known love-songs, the slow pop and ballade songs. But the album was also about the angels feelings about having a child, beeing loved, but also honest reaction to wrong headlines, lies, reckless people and also about dance, feeling joy, fierce and to love yourself. The producers were free to choose the vocal parts for every song they recorded. The song "Welcome to the dance" gave the women the idea to represent and to reflect their, dance based fun and cool new album. This song was at that time, one of Sandy's, Lucy's, Jessica's and Nadja's favourite song.

No Angels also recorded a cover song for REWE-shop. This was short presented to RTL news with an unreleased song and Sandy's big belly. She was at that time pregnant. No Angels also could experience the celebration of america's next president; Barack Obama. The first ever black president of america. What more did the Angels need? The end result of their newest Album and the reaction of their fans.

No Angels and their label worked in Los Angeles, New York, Berlin and in Rastede in Weser-Ems.

The start of an end

But as the work for the album soon ended, the rumours started around Nadja's dark past life. The rumours delayed the release date of the album "Welcome To The Dance" and sabotaged any further work by the band. Nadja was there to promote their first single; "One Life".

The next single would have been the balade song; "Derailed". No Angels presented the song at german show, The Dome together with Daylight In Your Eyes and at Tabaluga show.

Before the performance, Nadja was at a nightclub to perform her solo work in frankfurt, but was  taken into custody. Afterwards she was released. More about her story can be found on internet or from her own memoir "Schritt für Schritt". Nadja came back to try it with the band again but ended it also with the manager Kalid Schröder.

Jess, Lucy and Sandy stood behind Nadja, but also wanted to promote their long waited album for their community. No Angels performed without Nadja and stayed true to their live vocals.

The three angels were after one, two years at the studio and also recorded few songs without Nadja and had photoshooting, but the vocal as three angels wasn't what Jessica, Sandy and Lucy wanted. No Angels did less shows and ended 2012/2013.

No Angels Jessy, Sandy and Lucy cameback again for the rtl 2, 00's celebration.

This Album has few added vocals from; Aaron Pearce, Nasri Atweh, Tiyon Christian Mack and Billy Blast.
